About Us

In 1985, Jan and Don Blair returned to the US from Brazil with two young teenagers. They chose Boone, NC because it is their native state and Boone was a small town with a thriving university of 12,000 students. Originally, they planned to stay until the kids were in college but by then this mountain community had become home. The High Country has much to offer and the desire for exciting city life soon fades in favor of a much calmer, serene way of being. The verdant greens that are our summers, the autumn colors of our vast array of trees, crystal blue skies of winter and the slow spring as the greens gradually return; these are our guides to life here in the Blue Ridge. Jan has been in real estate for 29 years and still has a passion for meeting new people and pairing them with their dream properties. After Don retired, he joined her in 2007 just before the recession. What a welcome. Before he entered real estate, Don had 30 years of experience in manufacturing management and ownership in the furniture industry, a career that provided him and his family the opportunity to live in Ecuador and Brazil, among other places. The two have been top producers in the High Country for many years, affiliating their small boutique firm with Premier Sotheby’s International Realty nine years ago. Jan and Don began their story as college sweethearts at North Carolina State University. Now they enjoy time with their five adult grandchildren, their parents and Asher, the standard poodle. In their spare time they travel, fulfilling their love of art, food and nature.
